Question  XBMC Remote for MeeGo or Maemo? Post: #1
Since there's a bunch of clever and handy people here that can code and are full of ideas, isn't anyone working on an solution for the Maemo 5 or the coming MeeGo system?
My Nokia N900 beats the living crap out of the fruity Iphone in most things except just when it comes to the number of applications and people developing for it.
And since it's an open platform it would be sweeet if some clever smartass could come up with some version for this OS.

Hi there Im writing a simple maemo qt4 app that sends data through a socket and on the pc running xbmc I've got a java client(for portability in future) that listens in some port the packages and sends keyboard strokes simulating a IR.
Its nothing like the android-xbmcremote, but it is starting to work buddy;;

Hi guys,
I have developed a wifi remote control for xbmc audio player that runs on maemo and should run on meego (its developed in python and qt).

Its still in development phase but most features work. You can get it by searching for xbmc potato on maemo.org.

Cheers.

I'm happy to announce Xbmcremote for Maemo and MeeGo. Makes use of the new JSONRPC api and therefore needs current git master right now.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here but I only just found this and it really is rather good!

As an alternative to the Android remote for us N900 / N9 diehards it's very cool. Nice UX and good functionality.

Thank you mzanetti Smile
