This is the first time I've heard of this issue, and I've been looking extensively. Perhaps my Goog-fu is not strong. At any rate, most of my rips have embedded subs, only a few do not. I can easily re-rip the DVDs that don't have any subs.
I'll create that TRAC ticket sometime this week, tslayer.
