The kicker might be that if Recently Added is turned on, Videos, Music, and TV dont need to show the custom background as they show the fanart of the selected item. It confuses me.
Requesting help with one piece of Shade.

I need someone to get selectable backgrounds working for Shade. The interface is there under skin settings and all of the selection process works, but I cant get it to apply the background. I need someone to look at the code and see if they can get it to work. I would be extremely grateful.

I would look at Confluence first and get your backdrops working with your recently added code removed. Once the selectable backgrounds are working, you can then add in your visible conditions for the recently added.
I just went through the same thing and using Confluence as a base for my setting section really helped. HTPC SETUP |
