#1
Hi iv decided to go down the linux route for my new build but im confused with which motherboard to go for i like the new h55 boards but people are saying there not much good for this setup. so is a 775 based board better with somthing like a GT220 graphics Card or is there a all in one board with intergrated graphics solution that is recommended. My goal is to achive high quality H.264 Playback Huh

Any ion board is plenty.

Don't go bleeding-edge (H55) with Linux, you are more likely to encounter compatibility issues. Either get an Atom+ION or if you really want a powerful cpu get a 775 based board, or a AM2+/AM3 board.
There is an article about the best Linux HTPC boards here, but most of those boards are now discontinued.
