Hello,
I have tested different SVN revisions (last test on 30199) and for all when using mpeg4 and mp3 (cbr) the video stutters every few minutes for some seconds and the following type of errors occur in the log file:
06:45:26 T:3960 M:4294967295 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuity - was:430324426.619480, should be:430339135.582736, error:14708.963255
06:52:42 T:3960 M:4294967295 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuity - was:865823492.193707, should be:865834125.525584, error:10633.331877
06:54:13 T:3960 M:4294967295 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuity - was:957681849.006471, should be:957692036.877067, error:10187.870596
I've opened a bug report http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/9261 where you'll find attached three different log files which shows the above type of error in different scenarios:
"xbmc video1 on samba share.log" and "xbmc video1 on local harddrive.log" shows the log for the same video playing from different sources
"xbmc video2 on samba share.log" shows an example for another video file where this problem occurs.
On the other hand mkv video files with 1080p are playing without any stuttering! I also tried to remux the files with virtualdub, but this also doesn't help.
My System Information:
Intel Core 2 Duo 3,00 GHz
6 GB System Memory
ATI 4350 wit CCC 10.3
Windows 7 Home Premium
Sound Chip ALC887 through ATI HDMI
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Kind regards,
André

Can you post a log for one of the 1080p files.

Hello bobo1on1,
here it is: http://pastebin.com/qAvFp0Fr Against my first post, I'm surprised, that you find the same type of error messages in there (lines 577-579)! But I'm relatively sure, that the video is not stuttering at these positions - but I can't really prove that. Do you need some further informations or tests? |

It looks like the system clock is a little too slow or the soundcard plays a little too fast.

Ok. So is there any possibility to test and / or correct your assumptions? May it have something to do with Speedstep?

Could you disable transcoding.. If there something funky with transcoding this would happen aswell.
