Playlists in favourites don't show overview but play automatically
#1
Question
What I want to accomplish is this:

- by default all movies are showed in the library
- 'one click method' to show only the movies of my kids

I don't want to use profiles to accomplish this (I don't want my kids or my wife to have to log in to their own profile to get started).

I can make a list of all the kids movies by using a smart playlist (genres animation and musical). If I browse to the library, simple view, I can see and browse this list without a problem. However, this requires too many clicks for the kids.

So I added this smart playlist to my favourites section. The problem is, when I click the playlist in the favourites section, I don't get an overview of all the kids movies: the first movie begins to play automatically Huh

Is there a way to change this behaviour?

Many thanks.

Change the favourite from PlayMedia() to ActivateWindow(VideoLibrary,path/to/playlist)

You may have to do this via the XML file (favourites.xml in userdata).

Cheers,
Jonathan

Some skins and skin mods already support custom menus and submenus, eg. MiniMeedia.
