So I was watching a movie tonight and just 10 minutes before the supposed ending the box locked up. I got an amber flicker when hitting menu on my remote but not much else. Could not SSH into it either until forced reboot.

After some loud cursing I looked over at my phone and saw my NAS unit fired off an email saying that it was overheating and shutting down for safety. Understandable that the video playback would stop, but why would it lock up my ATV?

Because XBMC tries forever to re-connect. It's a bug.
