CrystalHD & current SVN builds of XBMC?
#16
interesting on the memleak as I rebooted the atv and started playing the 2 files.

My understanding was that the memleak was an issue that occurred when exiting and reentering xbmc

The first recording was choppy and audio was 2 or 3 seconds out of sync.

If you would like more info or for me to try something else just let me know.

Thanks

I'm really sorry about it, I must be wrong in my perception that CrystalHD has been temporary removed and that's the reason why it is disappear from my video rendering menu. I've just got pretty upset that I couldn't watch 720p video yesterday's Sunday night after the latest upgrade.

I'll provide all required info tonight. I'm sorry for this ridiculous post one more time.

I think I might be just blind and didn't check for this option ... that could be the one. Let me double check and do kill me for my first post ;-]

updated to 30929

I tried the first recording that used chd but played poorly, and the result was still poor. I turned on the debugging and the interesting thing was that cpu usage stayed below 50% but the fps was poor @ about 15 on average, never got above 17.

Had to trim the log as it was to big for pastebin.

720p/60 seems twitchy right now, will look into it.

I updated to 31033

played the same recording (first one) and I got about 22 fps average and as high as 30, CPU usage was about 55%.

Media info is as above
XBMC log

So it is better not yet watchable but moving in that direction.
This is a recording made from an HDPVR with the cable box outputting 720P

Thanks

Ok, here is the update:
The crystalHD checkbox doesn't appear right after xbmc version upgrade.
You need to reboot appleTV in order to get it back.

It's a minor thing, but I hope you can fix it. This is very confusing as you could see from my first post Confused

Thanks for working on it!

If anyone needs to revert to r28256 or r30938 (last two with reasonably good crystal HD performance), the instructions were posted in this thread, I just reverted to r30938 and am back to near flawless crystalHD performance:

Davilla - You mentioned that CrystalHD status with the new builds is in flux, is that likely going to be for a while? (Just trying to figure if I should be testing each new build or wait a few weeks/months)

The current nighties (xbmc-r31463-trunk-x86.dmg 28-Jun-2010 09:47 ) should be fine, it's are working well for me and you can see from http://trac.xbmc.org/timeline that I've been working on crystalhd.

Should we still be using crystalhd 1.0.3 r26 with the current nighties?

You can, the code in XBMC is backward compatible with both new/old crystalhd driver/lib.
