Scraper doesn't add mp4 movies to library
#1
All,

This is my first post so I hope I am in the correct area. If not, please help me find the right area and hopefully an answer to my issue.

The issue: I have tried several of the scrapers and movie DBs in XBMC and nothing picks up my movies and adds them to the library.

I have approx 500+ movies, each in its own folder.

Ex: C:\Movies\A Bug's Life\A Bug's Life.mp4
C:\Movies\A Walk To Remember\A Walk To Remember.mp4

and so on.

In XBMC I have right clicked on the Movies (C:\Movies) folder in my sources and selected Scan for new Content. The bar flashes across the top and I have nothing in my library. Yet if from Home | Video | Files (which goes into C:\Movies) I right click on a movie and select Movie Information; it finds it with no problem and adds it to the library.

Any one no why? I would prefer the scan find and add rather than making all those clicks to add 500+ manually.

On the set content for C:\Movies I have everything selected excluding the Exclude path from library updates. I have tried combinations and tried different movie DBs and nothing works.

Please help. Thanks.

Your settings are wrong. Ensure anything regarding "folder" and "recursive scan" is turned off.

Thank you. I went to set content and deselected everything. I set the scraper to IMDB.org and the scan still didn't find anything. Any other settings I should change? Please advise.

A debug log while scanning might be useful, else we're just guessing.

I tried to include the log and the site said the text I entered was too long. Shorten to 10000 characters. How can I get you the full log?

I saw this:

jmarshall,

I had a similar issue but was able to solve it with the steps listed in my post. However my collection is not very large and and my resolution might not be practical for someone with a large collection. Please see the post below:
