[DEPRECIATED] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script (previously OpenSubtitles OSD)
Thanks for the what looks to be great Plugin!

I just have a few questions to ask first of all:

I'm running Dharma RC2 (I've read elsewhere that it's not worth updating/upgrading, and last time I tried such a thing I broke the entirety of XBMC, so I'd rather not risk it)

and in the "Settings> addons" part of the options, I can see "Music OSD" but there is no sign of a "Video" or "Movie" OSD!

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kris
When i try to access the subtitles when Iam watching a movie/tv show I just get "script failed" when i click the subtitles icon.

Iam running XBMC in portable mode on a external USB drive.

Log: http://pastebin.com/9SjXPyXL
Line 149 and forward

Hope you can help and thanks for a otherwise great addon.
I use subdivx, and search correctly but when i click on Download, never finish.

Ubuntu 10.04
Subtitles addon 2.3.0

What can i do?

It's the problem you are working on?
2.3.2 is out on github, if anyone cares to test and report back before I push it to official repo

Quote:2.3.2
- added: support for xbmcvfs module, with this its possible to search by hash and save on smb:// drives.

Zeljko, what are the platforms affected and aimed by this fix? ATV2?

Atv2/iOS with the latest git build( or the next official ) and any xbmc using external python.
I'm currently running OpenElec RC1 / XBMC.
For some reason I cannot install XBMC Subtitles using XBMC's addon repository.

...so: I decided to copy/paste the script from a different XBMC install. But to no avail: The script says downloaded but nothing is shown.

...last but not least I tried version 2.3.2 (using install-from-zip).
This however acts the same: the file isn't downloaded and is thus never shown.
(I assume it is a problem with rights on the temporary sub folder...)

FYI: My video files are stored on a NAS and are accessed using a SMB share (with guest read/write access).

It works when you mount it first using cifs.
EDIT

updating to 10.0-7 solved my issue. thx.
Me German. Me not speach English very ok. ;)
Thumbs Up
Hi Amet and mr_blobby,

Thanks for all the work on this plugin. Just wanted to let you know that with the latest XBMC build on ATV2 ( git d651965) and your latest Subtitle addon (2.3.3), I now can save the subtitle on my SMB share Smile

Thats really great! Thanks!!
Hi! Everyone,

I run into a bit of a problem and hope someone can help me out.

I use XBMC for some month now but just recently discovered the subtitle addon.

It works like a charm if I use Confluence but normally I prefer the Alaska Rev Skin and for some reasons, if I download subs while using Alaska they don't get displayed afterwards. If I switch to confluence download them there and switch back to Alaska everything works fine.

Anyone got a Idea what could be the problem ?

no idea, debug log while trying to do it in Alaska Rev might have some answers
I was thinking about adding support for legendasdivx.com. It's the most popular website for portuguese (Portugal) subtitles.

Are there any guidelines for adding new websites? Maybe the code is self explanatory... I haven't read anything yet.
Thanks for the reply amet.

I think this is what goes wrong:

I think this is what goes wrong:

we dont deal with "stack://" movies well... it has always been the low priority to me.
