Hello folks!

I have been running XBMC on my good old Xbox for years and have now just set up XBMC on ubuntu. A full install as well as XBMC Live, that is.
And it's performing quite well so far - except everything script related.
Even SVN Repo Installer is slower than you can imagine.

System specs:

• FSC Esprimo E5615 (specs here http://www.rrze.uni-erlangen.de/dienste/..._e5925.pdf)
  
• Athlon 64 3800+ 2,4 GHz
  
• 1 GB RAM (going to upgrade)
  
• onboard Geforce 6150 LE (i know... will be replaced with a G210 when this scripts issue is sorted out)
  

I'm aware that it's not the most powerful system. But it's doing quite well playing videos (non-HD due to graphics card), is quiet and was cheap.

So i'm really puzzled about how it fails dealing with python scripts that even a 733 MHz, 64 MB RAM Xbox is running fine.

Can anyone provide me with some hints on what causes this incredible slowness?

I have performed all those steps. Only the last (lirc) related steps showed an error message, but that's probably because I haven't set up a remote yet?

It didn't seem to make an improvement on script/plugin behaviour. Everything is still really slow.

The XBMC Live version I've been using is this XBMCfreak Live v14:
