Audio problems with a few video files
#1
Hey guys, I have a small problem.

I have several video files in my collection that all plays back just fine. However, there is a particular season of a tv show I have that I am having sound problems. When opening them up in XBMC, I get the error message "Failed to initialize audio device. please check your settings." When I open these same files in another media player, the audio plays just fine.

The only thing I knew to do was to check the audio properties of the file itself and compare them to the rest of the videos that are not problematic. Not sure if this is useful, but this was the only info I got:

Bit rate:192kbps
Channels: 2 (stereo)
Audio Sample rate: 48 kHz

Of course, all the other videos that work share these same properties.

When it comes to audio, I don't know too much about how to troubleshoot. Any advice?

I am running XBMC 9.11 on windows 7 with a sound blaster sound card. Let me know if you guys need more info.

Thanks!
