Hi all,
ive bought a cheap USB reciever and remote:

The remote works with XBMClive

But im struggling to setup my harmony one...

Ive tried Media Centre PC > Microsoft > Windows Media Centre

but it doesnt work, there doesnt seem to be a brand name on the cheap remote.

Any ideas please?

that should be the way to go as I'm quite sure the IR receiver of this remote thing won't talk MCE (RC6)

chances are that the harmony won't work at all with the receiver

thats a ChinaVasion remote I have the same one and its JUNK..... its not a MCE gentuine remote and NOT every button works on my Monster AVL-300s it uses harmonys database for remotes. but type in ChinaVasion under HTPC and you will see it pop up, best of luck I wish I spend the extra $10 and got a $20 remote that was KNOWN to work....

I actually had Harmony copy some one elses settings onto my account to get it working.

oh and I learned every button my scratch and my Monster still wouldn't send a signal until the Logitech guys transplanted that other guys settings to my account.

buy a remote from newegg.com for $20 and be done with it.
