Control receiver remotely
#1
In my "Old" system I used Mainlobby/MusicLobby running on a tablet in the kitchen to control music playing on a XP PC connected to a receiver in another room. The receiver's second zone is wired back to kitchen speakers so the little lady (maybe not so little) can listen to Barry Manilow and drive me crazy. When the music player was loaded on the tablet it forced the Mainlobby server to run a macro to send IR codes to the receiver. A GC-100 networkable IR system was used to select the receiver's input and control the volume. I have taken a look at the tablet control application and although it could work to select a playlist I have no way to change receiver settings. Has anyone played with this type of setup in XBMC/Linux? I played with LinuxMCE a couple of years ago and it was possible but never got it working.
Mythbuntu doesn't need viruses - we have Sudo
