Not sure, something is set incorrectly, either your settings in xbmc or how your file structure is for you movies. Maybe grab a debug.

Is the plot info/studio/etc. populating correctly evidence of it being scraped?

The only times I've come across getting thumbnails like you are seeing is when a movie is incorrectly scraped with something that doesnt have a thunbnail on the scraper site, but that doesn't appear to be the issue in your case. What specific version of XBMC are you running, stable/SVN? Edit: never mind the version question, it is in the debug.

Could all this have something to do with it?

I had someone in my thread have trouble with special characters in the folder name, doesnt hurt to remove it and give it a try...
Mostly likely you'll need a debug log while scanning and a dev to look at it... Check out The Carmichael - A Skin For XBMC Check out Night - A Skin For XBMC Check out Unfinished - A Skin For XBMC |

Not all devs wander into this section maybe a post in the windows help section, with a debug log while scanning, would catch their eyes better...
