[Windows] help needed with case decision

Question
Hi all

I am new to this forum and would really appreciate your help with a case issue. I am based in the UAE and looking to build my first HTPC (based on Windows 7 and XBMC)Big Grin.

While importing the smaller components from abroad is easy the cost of shipping the case from abroad means I will have to get it locally. After a lot of digging around I have found 2 cases available in the market:

Zalman HD160XT+ (at US$460 / stg 300)
http://www.zalman.com/ENG/product/Produc...sp?idx=193

Thermaltake VB8001SNS (at US$ 122 / stg 80)
http://www.thermaltake.com/product_info....Bach&ovid=

I have two questions:

1) Any thoughts on the two options (value for what you are actually getting etc); and

2) Will the LCD and remote work with XBMC on the Zalman? I have had a good look around this forum and see that has historically been problems, but many of these posts (about imon) are old (i.e. 2008). Does the latest builds of XBMC and Imon resolve this? Is it straightforward to get up and running?

For info the components I was thinking of were as set out here:

All thoughts and input really appreciated.

Many thanks

Hmm.... the Zalman looks nicer for sure, but I wouldn't expect XBMC support for the screen and its much more expensive. The Thermaltake is a safer bet for less.

But with that said, I reject your false dichotomy. I can't believe that you can't get a ANTEC NSK2480 in UAE. I would take my NSK2480 over anything you put forth- the case was designed by Mensa members or something.

I wish that were the case, I contacted the Antec distributor listed on their website who informed me that Antec do not have any reseller in the UAE.

The Thermaltake has now failed the wife test, so I guess I am going to have to look at shipping an Antec from the UK or the States Sad. Thanks for your help.
