[RELEASE] Swiss-Army-Knife Addon - Blu-ray and DVD-Video Ripper and Transcoder

Hello ;-)

Right now I do develop my old ripper-script as a addon.

I need testers for the following things.

1.) There is a tar witch do contain debian packages for Handbrake and Makemkv ( 32 Bit and 64 Bit).

The full source is included.

Do they run correct on 32 and 64 systems ?

2.) I have 2 shell-scripts to test in combination with the above link.

Until the release of xbmc 10.5 you can only get the actual addon over subversion.


There will be heavy changes during the next days ....
do not expect a running addon until next week.

I reached a point that I can say my addon should work more or less.
The addon is still in a alpha release but imho useable.

The addon can :

* convert bluray to matroska-videocontainer (makemkv)
* convert dvd to h264 (Handbrake)
* Copy dvd to iso (dd)

Thanks for all the hard work you have done! I have downloaded it and installed it using the readme (which i can help with your English and help make it a little more noob friendly if you like).

Got it all configured and started, but when i get to the point of ripping or transcoding it brings up an error that 'file swiss-army-knife/media/state could not be opened' Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I'm no-where near a coder, so i cant look into it myself, but am happy to use it and find any bugs for you

Today I found a big bug about the problem described.
Inside bluray-chapter.sh and inside the python-code a sleep time was
to short.
Do please wait until I release alpha 10 and try it again.

I Will look forward to the release of version 10

Expect release alpha 10 tonight.
I made a lot changes inside the code.
With every alpha release it comes more useable.

What is the recommended upgrade procedure?

Remove old addon iof possible
Install new addon
run setup.sh inside the shell-linux folder

I didnt get a chance to download it and try this alpha till just recently.

It seems i am getting the same bug when trying to rip to iso still. Not only that, when you click the exit option, xbmc panics and exits...

Not on my MC, so i cant copy and paste the logs, but will do tomorrow...
