I'm new to forum posting. I did a search on my small issue, but I couldn't find anything specific.

Quick summary: I'm running XBMC on a PC with WinXPSP3 running nothing other than Itunes (just for the internet radio access, haven't gotten around to the radio function on XBMC yet). The PC runs as a sort of impromptu server containing all of my movies (around 400) and all of my mp3 music. It's connected to my Vizio HDTV and runs awesomely for my movies.

Just gotten to the music collection and started organizing the music into album folders. Anyway, the issue I'm seeing is that every so often, the music playing will stutter a couple of times and freeze. If i hit pause and then play on my Ipod app, it runs fine after that until the next time it stutters and stops. It doesn't seem to happen very often, so I'm wondering if there is a buffer that's overflowing or something like that. It's kinda strange considering I'm running mp4 movies with no trouble at all, but mp3's are coming up with this issue. I couldn't find anything in particular with the playback settings, but perhaps I'm missing something.

XBMC version? Post a full debug log. In the future for better results put your actual issue in the title. ie "Music playback stutters XBMC ver. 9.11" for an example.

I'm guess I'm a little confused. Are you using XBMC to play the music or some other device? Where does the ipod app come into play? Are you saying you have the xbmc remote app for ipod touch/iphone and you use that to pause XBMC?

Sorry, I should have specified. I use uRemote/XBMC to control XBMC like a remote control. But yes, I'm playing music on the hard drive to play directly from the server. BTW, there are many remote control programs that work via Wifi to control XBMC and several are free. Of the ones I've tried so far, uRemote is the best. There was another program that uses the OSD volume control which was awesome and I wish that feature was in uRemote. Maybe I'll send feedback to the devs about that.

Looking at the log file, I copied the two missing files MSVCR90.dll and MSVCP90.dll from another folder to the system32 folder and XBMC didn't like that at all! I'm guessing the two files are probably outdated. But ever since Microsoft changed their internal web search to Bing, I can't find out what to download to update them with. I would imagine that it would have something to do with DirectX. I'll see what I can find.

NVM I got it. I updated .net framework and installed the June 2010 Directx uodate and everything fell into place. Running like a champ now.
