2 Disk External RAID Enclosure with eSATA
#1
Hi,

I'm looking for a 2-disk (3.5") external enclosure, which supports RAID 1 and has an eSATA port. It would be good if it would be manageable from Linux too, even better if this is possible with standard tools (not some proprietary management software by the manufacturer).

The problem is, that many of such devices can be bought only with disks, but I already have the disks which I want to use.

I've found these units until now:
Thecus N2050
Conceptronic CH3B2E
Edge10 DAS200
Stardom SOHORAID SR2
ICY BOX IB-RD4320StUS2, IB-3218StU-B, IB-RD3262-USE2

Does anyone have experience with one of these or some other model?

I have had luck in Linux with RAID enclosures that use Sil chipsets. Two bays is far too little for me, so I use one of these:
