What are the advantages of running a 64bit version of XBMC over 32bit? (Assuming off course that your HTPC supports 64bit)

Um, I think all released versions are 32 bit (I know the Windows versions are).
So in that case the advantage of running the 64 bit version is you learn how to compile XBMC yourself. In reality there is NO advantage to 64 bit XBMC, and that is why all official releases are in 32 bit (as far as I know). |

(Assuming off course that your HTPC supports 64bit) if you want compare an 32bit OS/XBMC with an 64bit OS/XBMC you can try OpenELEC.tv. Download from here: http://openelec.tv/menu/download/images-...shots.html Some HowTos here: http://openelec.tv/menu/documentation/in...owtos.html there are 32bit and 64bit builds for ION and INTEL-graphic based systems. |
