I never really understand why they have to leave this forum, really!
But Showmix is (i don't want to say "was") a great skin. I always checked that page, almost daily, despite the lack of updates.

i don't think i have the attributes and time to support everything on this skin, but i'll try my best. What do you mean with " using XBMC-org " ? Should i make a request ?

i know, you're absolutely right, there has been no support or updates for a long time, but the last 2 weeks something moved on ... we'll see ... if Showmix will have a future ...

pleeeeaaase keep this skin alive!!
It's my favorite over months now cause the Low List view rocks so hard.
Some time ago i recognized that showmix isn't supported by the new XBMC Addon System. And therefore it was like a dream to read that he is going to make showmix compatible for de new addon system.
short after that the site was down and the hack notice has been postet...
so i hope someone will kepp this skin alive.
Or maybe someone could add the Low List view into another AEON mod?

Is it only me or is the 2.5 version A LOT uglier then the 2.1 version which is amazing? I mean you cant even change views or anything.

This is a great thread and I think showmix will get more exposure in here than their own website. I too frequent the site very often but the update is very slow.
I have move to the new xbmc build and have found quite a lot of problem with showmix. Well firstly we needed to create the addon.xml ourselves but that shouldn't be too difficult by using the confluence as a template. Secondly the database needed to be regenerated, if not you will get the extras.py error.
Thirdly now that everything is set up, I can't get the recently added in the home page to work properly. I get a series of numbers rather than the movie title and it doesn't show a poster and fanart as suppose to. Looking at the log file, it seems to be looking for it but is not able to find it. This is probably the limit of my knowledge. I have posted a sample section from the log file if anyone can help.
I am running windows 7 with the latest release Dharma branch (31/7/2010)

Thanks for any help in advance. If not might need to move to another skin. I really like showmix, and would like a skin with a kiosk function, for the less IT literate in the family .

i also got some problems since switching to dharma
nearly always the showmix skin crashes XBMC on shutdown.
I hit shutdown and the xbmc screen freezes. Then i have to hit CAD to get to the Taskmanager to kill the xbmc process.
If i switch to PM or another Skin it works fine.
Does someone have a hint for my why this is happening?
I also recognise in the new Dharma build that adding new content (while scanning for new content) causes the system to freeze for 2 seconds for every new entry it finds.
But this i also got this problem with PM skin or others.

I was hoping Andy would update the extras.py file.. but he's been silent for awhile now.. I can edit skins, but I'm clueless with this python stuff.. The changes to recentlyadded need to be applied and the Deviantart option no longer works either..
I noticed the Dharma compatible link on the first page isn't the latest copy of Showmix.. There were a few changes since that one was released.. One of them being the positioning of the menu fonts..
