[MAC] VDADecoder performance over HDMI on new Mac Mini?
erhnam Wrote:Progress update:

Seems that Davilla's sample arrived.

http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11106

Davilla: Only issue that osx needs hitting is stutter madness with vda under 10.6+ on new macmini. I have one now (user donated) just need a day or so to track it down.

Just to provide a little more info, I don't think this issue is limited to mac minis. I have the exact same problems using a 2010 mbp 13" with 10.6.6 and xbmc 10.0

It seams limited to products with NVidia 320M.
My skins:

Amber
Quartz

Maybe Apple knowHuh

As noted by 9 to 5 Mac, Apple has seeded a new version of Mac OS X 10.6.7, known as Build 10J846, to developers. The updated build comes just days after the initial seed of the next maintenance version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

While the update has grown in size by nearly 35 MB since last week, we've yet to hear about any new areas of focus beyond those included in the initial build: AirPort, Bonjour, SMB, and Graphics Drivers.

Huh??

While this may be the case, I have no issues at all playing untouched bluray rips through plex, which play at 11fps on xbmc.
if anyone with vda issues can build, pull and build from git, there are vda changes.

Can I use the same patch on Dharma? I consider building a new package using Dharma and this patch included.
Cool, I'll have to update and build when I get home from work.

Thank you for all your hard work Davilla (including all the IOS stuff).
Building remotely from work (gota love Logmein). Looking at the changes, I'm curious if you killed 2 birds with 1 stone. The other being the PotC color issue. I will test both when I get home.

yes but I'd really like to see if this does indeed resolve the issue or not. If it does, then it will get backported into dharma 10.1
OK...1 Bird killed!

1 Bird to go...

Thanks davilla!!!!
Wow this is exciting. So going by the above screens, the untouched bluray 1080p playback has been fixed so they don't stutter any more? Thank you so much to all the people involved in this.
@D-tyme, can you cut me a sample of that #2. dropbox gives 2GBs free.
ok...I have to do the family thing right now, but will work on it tomorrow. Is your FTP still avail?
