Movie files do not show up in directories
#1
So I have added the source of where my movie files are. The problem is unless they have a filename ending like .avi or .mp4 they will not show up in the directory. Is there a way to change this or is this just how it is

That's just how it is.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if they don't have a filename extension...

Actually, better question-why don't they have a filename extension?

they do its just for the name of the file. when i remove it they do not show up but will play with vlc and the movie player and most other programs. thats a little bit annoying. is there a way to make it seem like it isnt there

XBMC will hide the extension if you ask it to. See the settings under "Appearance".
