[RELEASE] cdART Manager Script
#91
giftie Wrote:Which version do you need?? I can get you the 32bit version only.

to avoid this, you should try query the db using the http api, i've convert most of my script to do this, better performance, less encoding problem, less system dependancy Wink

For accessing the music database yes, but I use sqlite to build a local database in the script(so I still need the module). I also use the PIL module to allow resizing of cdARTs(from whatever the user has to 450px by 450px for uploading to XBMCSTUFF.com)

I also posted a message on trac to let the developers know that the modules are still missing...

Awesome . Thank you Smile

Sorry if I didn't get it although it may have been posted before.

When I start the script it keeps telling me that it is 'retrieving music database. please wait'. Nothing actually happens but I can't stop the script and have to shutdown XBMC via task manager. CPU usage is at a 100%. It initially worked but I must have clicked/activated something wrong. Reinstalling the script doesn't work and astonishingly using another XBMC instance now causes the same behaviour. Music database is set up properly and the cdarts found before work flawlessly. You mentioned in an earlier post that 'you should try query the db using the http api'. What does that mean in this case?

Thanks.

Could you both post a copy of your xbmc.log(use pastebin) so I can track down why this is occasionally happening...

Without seeing your log, I do think that to fix the problem right now, you need to go to userdata\addon_data\script.cdartmanager and delete the 'l_cdart.db' file(it's the local cdart database that the script uses)

That should get you back up and going...

Please don't forget to post your xbmc.log file...

There you go.

Deleting the db file sort of revived the script for one interaction. Scanning the library seemed to work. Artists were recognized (counters at left bottom). But that's about it. Both automatic download as well as manual search left me in the same deadlock as stated before (although I could see an empty query result (no text, but several wildcards) this time) and I have to stop XBMC the 'hard way'.

Thanks for your investigation so far.
Windows required a slightly different way of saving the missing.txt file. This is where the lockup was occurring...

New version(1.0.6) with fix and alittle error trapping should show up on the repo soon..
Works like a charm now.

Thanks.
I'm sitting on a pile of cdarts (222 so far) I've been creating for the past few weeks. Because I don't have permission to upload to XBMCSTUFF, I uploaded them to MediaFire in case anyone's interested. If this post is inappropriate please delete it or let me know and I'll remove the link. I'm just trying to help some people out. If someone with an account on Xbmcstuff feels like uploading them, even better! That way cdART Manager could download them for other people.

Most of the files are classic rock albums (Rush, Van Halen, Genesis, Heart, Bad Company, Foreigner, Supertramp, etc...) missing from xbmcstuff and a bunch of greatest hits collections (Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Eurythmics, etc...) also absent. There are 4 or 5 that are just better versions from the ones on that site.
Just wanted to ask the question:

Is there anything features you(the users) would like to be part of the script?

Looking at improving it for you guys...

Thanks...

1. Ability to upload cdart for those not present on the site.
2. For the Script to omit parts of names. (i.e. [Disc 1], cd1, special edition)

uploading of cdarts from library not present online. Would love to do that automatically, so you don't have to upload each cdart separately. Dunno if it's possible, but it's worth the try Smile
