[RELEASE] cdART Manager Script
No clue why... I need a debug log of you trying to install the zip file.
I can give you a frodo openelec debug log where it states dependencies not met.

Should this work with frodo openelec?

debug log here http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=58

Neither of those are debug logs showing you trying to install from a zip file. Also that error wouldn't stop it being installed. It's just won't display the icon on the screen(since it is actually not stored in that location anyways)

It seems the OpenElec is missing the PIL module.
For OpenElec users ONLY please try this version -> https://github.com/downloads/Giftie/scri....2.7.1.zip
OpenELEC version installs and works fine for me. There's not any CDArt on fanart.tv for any single album I have, but it works. Fanart, logos, thumbs etc download fine, etc. Thanks

Really, not one cdART? Hmmm... Can you check manually, by going to fanart.tv and check.. Seems a little odd, especially when there are about 9700 cdARTs. If there is not any on fanart.tv, then you can help us out and start making some(they are fairly easy to make) Smile

Also, the reason the XBMC version would not install is because the OpenElec does not compile a script.module.pil, but does have PIL built into the system Python. I'm not going to be maintaining two versions, only an XBMC version, it's only one line that needs to be removed to in the addon.xml.

Edit: Not tried your above version yet. Will report back later

I did a manual check of the fanart.tv website against what of my audio collection I have in XBMC at the moment and there are 8 CDArts on the website.

Within CDArt Manager I can download the fanart, clearlogos, artist thumbs and CD covers. When it comes to the CD artwork however nothing seems to work. I've tried automatic download and it finds and downloads nothing. When doing it manually by going through the artist list I'm not quite sure what it does. I'll try my best to describe what happens using examples of artists/albums that I know have CD art on fanart.tv only.

I go through CDArts > Select Artists until I get the list of the artists. Some are green in colour, some are white. The artists that are white give me an error telling me there are no available CD arts. The artists in green bring up the selection window but all it displays is a default CD art of some kind with the CDArt Manager logo with "no cd art available" written on the label. If that makes sense.

I know for a fact these albums have the CD artwork on the website, I just can't get it to download, or even display.

Green - artist match found on fanart.tv <- artist matched, though doesn't mean artwork is available.
White - artist match not found on fanart.tv <- definitely no artwork available here

I would need a debug log of you trying to autodownload cdARTs. Some times there are differences between what cdART Manager and fanart.tv match with MusicBrainz,

sorry for the noob question im new to cdart manager and just started using it today, can you point me if exists a step by step guide on how to use it, i have usedit for the entire day building the database for the add on, scanning the albums like 3 times, and the only change i have seen its the record labels logos but no cd art,btw i already had the albums images and artist fanart i just want to see the cdart while i play music, in cdart manager menu displays how many albums i have but zero cdart, i cant see the display of the available fanart and album images i already have, all of them displays correctly in aeon,im currently using eden and aeon nox 3.5.
Im sure im doin it all wrong.
It's hard to tell what is going on with out a debug log.
Giftie, just want to report the latest link you did for OpenELEC is now working...
Thanks for that, really appreciate it.

Is there any chance you could maintain whatever fixes you did?
And maybe make a seperarte link on the OpeningPost regarding it.
