Req Video playback in Pictures slideshow
#1
I think this has been discussed before, but all I could find were very old topics. So I decided to suggest this feature again, because I believe it would be really a great improvement.

The idea is that I have quite often some small videos between my pictures. If I am now looking at the slideshow, it would only complete the experience if the videos a played on the correct place between the pictures (sorting files by date).

Is this feature already planed? Or are there any restrictions and it is already clear that this will never make its way into XBMC?

Seems also some other users are intrested in the feature...

A feedback from the developers would be great, if it is at all feasible, or even already planned. Thanks!

Wait for this useful feature too.
Any digital cam has this feature - play video and photo in slideshow mode.
Also please fix bug - navigate in foto using left and right keys - do not show video, only foto.

Also in foto slideshow I can start slideshow using 'start' button on MCE remote, but can't pause or stop slideshow - 'stop' button bring me to file list, and point to first played foto, not current viewer.

I'm missing this feature as well. In my pictures I've everything from my digital camera which also includes the videos I've taken.

+1

I include videos taken by camera in same folder and it would be awesome to show them together with pictures (instead of going to separate video menu).

I'm surprised that this feature wasn't there already. Anyway, did it. I'm not a regular XBMC developer, so here's the patch for the current SVN version (33640):

http://pastebin.com/aQ9TEyei

Save to a file named anyname.patch
Go to the XBMC source root
Apply the patch with:
# patch -p0 < /path/to/anyname.patch
Then compile and install XBMC as usual

I don't know if I did it the right way (not enough knowledge with the code), but fill free to report any bugs.

Have not had time to try this out and have never built XBMC by myself, but great work Gwan! Smile Will it be possible to merge this patch into the XBMC trunk?

Certainly it SHOULD be integrated in XBMC. Everybody now has pictures and videos from his family, and want to show them all automaticaly like slide-and-video-show, chronologically.

Hope the next RC includes this!!!
PLEASE!!!

and, great work! this is the best program ever!

Inspired by Gwan I just posted a patch to correctly show thumbnails for video files in picture listings.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=85442

Also a second one to show panorama's in a nice way in a slideshow:

I think that is about what was needed to have XBMC flawlessy display a directory copied 1:1 from a modern photocamera.

Only wish: music under the slideshow which continues after a video has been shown. Gwan, feel like it...?? ;-)
