When i do library update (especially in initial setup) i would like to have some indication (small windows) about library update progress or at last windows telling me that library update is running.
Something like progress when i use "scan to library" on music source, but also for videos and tv shows.

Check you haven't enabled 'Always update library in background'.

I have - i tough it is option to automatically update libraries, but i was wrong.

you have to provide more details. I always get the progress dialog, but I do manual updates

it's possible you are using an old skin that hasn't been updated for the new progressdialog (which went in 2 years ago by the way)
