I Love XBMC, at the moment I'm running it from my Machine connected to the TV.

I'd really love a HTPC and I'm having some questions.

My compilation is:

Mainboard: Asus AT3IONT-I
RAM: 2/4 DDR3-1066
HDD: 1TB WD EcoGreen 7200
A+case Cupid 3
Logitech Harmony 300

First thing is the RAM, I don't think ION has dedicated ram so 2GB probbably won't be enough when I want to run XBMC on Windows 7 x32?!

Second, if I want to use the Logitech Harmony to start the HTPC from Sleep what IR receiver would be best?

Third and last question, how is the performance difference between linux (ubuntu?) and windows 7?

1. 2GB is fine for Windows 7 x32. I wouldn't want to use less though.

2. For IRC many of us get HP media center receivers off ebay with great success.

3. Linux will boot faster and has a more "appliancey feel," but Windows 7 is better if you plan on watchin flash stuff (aka Hulu, youtube, etc.) because of its better version of flash.
