My girlfriend decided to turn off my XBMC Live based htpc by unplugging it from the wall. This is no serious problem since all the filesystems in use are fault tolerant and journaled. However, when I turned it back on I was presented with the grub bootloader screen, asking me to select either a normal boot, or a recovery kernel. Of course, grub doesn't know how to talk to a USB IR dongle - so that means I needed to drag a keyboard out of the back room to tell it to boot up. Has anyone had this issue? I'm wondering:
- is it possible to have grub just select the default choice after a certain amount of time? That way I won't have to drag my keyboard out if this happens again - and the girlfriend won't be quite as freaked out if it happens to her.
