[Trial Balloon] A new way for recent episodes

Hey mcborzu - probably not the right thread, but after a wicked effort I finally got my new Ion box in the TV room yesterday. I've selected NIGHT as the default.

All I can say is Wow...what a great skin Nod

I've come from the XBox using a modded version of the original PM3 (SD). Night has a lot of features that I have to get my head around (Logo's, extra-thumbs, clearart etc) - always so much to learn.

Anyway, again excellent effort.

PS - What VIEW is the 2nd pic in the first post. I don't remember seeing this one in the list??

Really only Logo's are what Night needs, technically you can get by without them though, and the rest is if you want to go the extra mile...

The 2nd pic view is using landscape thumbs from xbmcstuff.com. My favorite, I perfer my TV section to look different so I don't use Posters and I hate banners so I "go the extra mile" and use Landscape thumbs. That view is available if you use them as your main folder.jpg or if you save them as landscape.jpg and check the setting in "Skin settings" to use 'landscape,jpg'....

Yep...I'm one of those anal people that want to go the extra mile Big Grin

I like my TV side to look different as well. I was using banners in PM3, but I like that landscape view. I don't think Ill ever get all the artwork up to date. Laugh

the tv logo script downloads logos and cleararts for you

its makes it easy to get that wow factor look.

is the recently added thumb there is now the version u didn't like?
idea have *new episodes* under the logo. on keypress down the title of the episode pops up and a blue line under the selected episode. no need to animate the title or background.

as said, i'm not a fan of the tv thumbs so would love to see if u like the look without.

Sounds like a nice addition, but imo I don't want another AEON with too much stuff cluttered on one screen, plus the more scripts and stuff running in the background means the skin would start to make Atom/ION systems chug. The main reason I love this skin is because of its features and the fact that it runs beautifully on my acer revo 3610.

I'd definitely use it on the non-fanart focused views, but skin comes first, so if it runs bad pulling the info or whatever then it wont stay in. Something like this would be perfect:
