thanks: did reinstall Bluecop and Free Cable - took the "old" changed common.py again and changed the patched file again... still, not working. Here is my log, hope that helps at all.

no, I am not in the US - does that make the difference? I thought (hoped) it might not, since Comedy Central can be accesses without any VPN or anything like that here, too. So I can go to their website and just watch it (but unfortunately all other attempts of directly streaming it to ATV2 like Airflick or the like don't work)...

it finally works... What I did: reinstalled everything again. But I think that was not even the problem.

Yesterday, I tried to use the Unotelly service in order to access CBS - well that worked for a while, but apparently it also messed up the FreeCable for Comedy Central - even though according to their website - Comedy Central and CBS should be ok with it...

Anyhow - now I can access the Daily Show, but not How I met your Mother anymore...

Installed XBMC 11 beta 2
Added the bluecop repo
Installed the FreeCable add-on

I've now found this thread to try to enable Comedy Central within Free Cable.

I've patched
/Applications/XBMC.frappliance/Frameworks/lib/librtmp.0.dylib to the updated version that supports v1 swf verify2 protocol (file linked on page 12)

I've updated
/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.free.cable/resources/lib/_common.py to un-comment Comedy Central... I moved the comma to the end of the TVland line, and removed it from the comedy central line.

I've updated /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.free.cable/resources/lib/comedy.py with the patched version linked on page 13.

I have restarted the ATV2, and when I try to load Comedy Central under Free Cable I get an error: Script Failed: plugin.video.free.cable

What did I miss? I used cyberduck to copy the files to the ATV2 via SFTP. I'm in the USA. I've verified the permission for all files

It is part of free cable and is disable by default because it requires a manually compiled swfvfy2 patched librtmp

Where is the patch for librtmp? I can't find it anywhere, all I find are compiled versions of it for ATV.

Hi,

I have been using the add-on for a while now, and most of the time it worked ok. However, in the last week it did not play anymore. When I try to play an episode, the "streaming" window appears and then disappears again soon without anything happening. As far as I know it has nothing to do with the homepage maintenance of ComedyCentral, for it is working fine when watching it on the mac.

Any ideas why that is, or what I can do about it?

Has anyone else a similar problem, or is it just me?

I am using Eden Beta 2 still and the newest version of the free-cable (I think it updated itself today or yesterday, since the common.py was not the changed one anymore today).

The server switched to the new authentication, so no TDS or CR until this authentication gets written and supported by the underlying library (librtmp).
