[Feature Req] Custom HTTP commands / buttons
#1
Question
This feature request is for those of us that use other apps which can be controlled using HTTP (J River Media Center, Event Ghost, Homeseer, etc).

It would be useful to have the ability to have custom buttons on the home page that could trigger HTTP commands and then jump to a specified Android screen (inside the remote app).

Example Button:

"Movie Time"
actions
- send HTTP command to EventGhost (dim lights, turn on subwoofers, etc)
- jump to 'Movie Library' screen inside remote app

OR

Have the Android app button trigger an XBMC python script which will send the commands for you.
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

So basically you're asking for a scripting engine within XBMC Remote?
Running XBMC on my HTPC, tablet, phone and pinball machine.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forums before posting. Do NOT e-mail Team-XBMC members asking for support. For troubleshooting and bug reporting, make sure you read this first.

I'd like to be able to launch plugins from my remote, I use one for TV channels streamed via TVCatchup.com or would that also need a script engine.
