That option will present you with all your sets you could add it to favourites and put it in the main/sub menu how hard that would be would depend on the skin

Thanks for the input on this and yes that is some what the way I was thinking. Getting all the sets under one main heading, except for the fact of adding another sub menu in the video catagory, but would rather have it as a sub heading in the movies section.

Thanks again and I will continue with my sets the way i have been until something else comes up.

A side note thanking all who work on this project and give so much to those of us who are as dumb as a door bell. Big Grin

Yeah I pretty much new what you were really after but its not possible you could always put it in favourites and then add favourites to a key on your remote at least then you can jump to sets quickly

>>X<<' Wrote:If you don't want to use a media manager or export your whole library you can just create a movie.nfo with the IMDb url for that movie and the set name then just refresh those movies in the set

Code:
<movie>
  <set>Lord of the Rings Trilogy</set>
</movie>
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120737/

Hi Folks,

can anybody tell whether this is working with cinefacts.de too ?
The cinefacts.de URL for a movie looks a bit different. e.g. "http://www.cinefacts.de/kino/18364/harry_potter_und_der_feuerkelch/filmdetails.html"

Can I use that or is there another syntax that I have to use?

Cheers,
Walter

Hi, how do I enable this "set sort"?

I have 3 Collection in my libary (Die Hard, Harry Potter and Lord of Rings), but I can only sort by Title, Years, Director etc. - no "Set".

I guess if you don't have it your using 9.11 in which case you would need to install a nightly build

No, using the latest dsplayer build.

I checked my home.xml and add a submenu button for "ActivateWindow(VideoLibrary,MovieSets,return)" ... Now it works fine ...

no scrapable way I've found and covers can be a nightmare to find. I like cdcovers.cc as a first stop for high quality sets covers but not got everything

I followed many of the instructions listed here and want to thank the various posters...
But I've come across a snag.

I made a set called "Harry Potter" and made the nfo files for all of the movies and it looks quite good.
Except that when I "change the setthumb" from the context menu, it seems to change... but it will not display the chosen thumb. It shows the thumb from the last file in the list.
When I again choose "Change Setthumb" from the context menu, it shows my previously chosen (correct) thumb... but it will not display it.

Here is one for the Collection called "Harry Potter" and the movie: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone" The first movie.
The sorttitle is needed to put the movies into order. I just used the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 and the URL to the page for your movie scraper to scrape.

Code:
moviefilename.nfo
<movie>
        <set>Harry Potter</set>
           <sorttitle>1</sorttitle>
</movie>

You do not need a sorttitle for sets, just sort by year.
Still got nothing to do with your thumb problem, what happens after a restart?
i also hope that you do not have that moviefilename.nfo part in your file?

This is all very easy if you just use Ember is does all the coding for you, all you have to do is pick the movies and name the sets....

Anyway my question.

I am using custom set posters, is there a way to save it in or to have it load up if I was to load my collection into another XBMC setup? Like my fanart and psoters for movies? Or will I have to set all this up again in XMBC frontend everytime?

For movies I grouped all of my kids movies into a set. I would like to do the same for my documentaries which are for the most all scrapped using the TVDB. I don't like my documentaries flooding my TV section, so it would be nice to consolidate them to one section. Hope that clears it up.
