If you look at the Bluetooth properties in Device Manager there's a setting somewhere for allowing the device to wake the PC. I don't know if this setting will make any difference but it's worth a try.

Have tried writing emails on it but get occasional hiccups (missing a keystroke, doubling another) - not reliable for mass-typing, but works well enough when I need to Ctrl+Alt+F1 out to a terminal (in Ubuntu) to kill a process and so on.
snarfo Wrote:So far I've tried the Rii and the Cideko Air Keyboard as potential replacements for my old Logitech DiNovo Mini and sadly neither device is quite as good overall as the DiNovo.
The Rii is much more reliable than the DiNovo in terms of responding after the computer wakes up (the DiNovo frequently has to have its battery removed to reset it before it will respond) but in actual use the Rii's buttons are not very responsive and the trackpad is sluggish as well.
The air keyboard is actually okay, except as there is no configuration program for it there's no way to disable the gyroscopic mouse altogether or leave it disabled by default. There is a button to turn it off but it does not remember the setting so EVERY time you activate the Air Keyboard you have to turn the mouse off. I like to use XBMC in more of a remote-like up/down/left/right/enter manner and with the Cideko device the mouse will be flopping around changing your selections all the time... plus no backlight.
Even with the DiNovo's drawbacks, if the computer it's going to control does not go to sleep mode you'll find it much, much nicer to use overall. That said, it's long overdue for a hardware overhaul I think... come on Logitech, break out the DiNovo Mini 2!

I am curious to try this little KB and would like to ask advice from this community. Looking on Amazon.ca (I am in Canada), there is 4 different models that seems to be available.
http://www.amazon.ca/Portable-Wireless-K...404&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.ca/GTMax-Wireless-Keyb...404&sr=1-2
http://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-Bluetooth-...404&sr=1-3
http://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-Multimedia...404&sr=1-5
Are any of these links the exact same model that you bought? I am wondering which one is the real dead and which ones are cheap knock offs from China... THe second link (the one at 62.99CAD) seems to have good reviews so I am tempted to buy, but I wonder if it will run with Linux and unless I am not reading correctly, neither specs or reviews mention if it is Bluetooth or RF or anything else... Except the supposed problem with short range, this KB seems decent.
My other choice was the Logitech diNovo Mini but its over $130 and I have problems with spending that kind of money for only a KB...
Any input appreciated!
Thanks!
