What was the load on the system? 1080p mkv file?

partimers Wrote:My suggestion for that, would be:

- AT5IONT-I (regular board, not the Deluxe)
- M350 Case with Pico PSU like this http://www.mini-box.com/M350-enclosure-w...0W-adapter

Not that much beautiful, but very small and functional. This is the killer combination in my opinion, and I will be buying it as soon as I hear some reviews confirming this board can be run fanless.

I agree that the Deluxe version does not bring much advantages, the main one would be the PSU, but using this case combo solves the problem. I will be modding it with a XERC+Xbox IR dongle like show here (like shown here, so having a proper Molex coming from the PSU is even better.

Exactly what I would like to do. Have not thought of modding with XERC+Xbox IR dongle. Will investigate Big Grin

BTW: This is also a (old) neat hack: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xir.php

The case has a fan on the side which I have not connected, so at the moment it is running fanless (except for the JET LIKE NOISE MAKING PSU FAN WTF!).

I was affraid of that when I saw your pictures. Small fans normally equals noise. If that bothers your too much maybe you should consider a PicoPSU and not use the case PSU. Will you be running Linux or Windows on it?

Wow, nice. 70 seems acceptable for a fanless setup. If someone can confirm the 2gig kingston stick will work (of course newegg is out of the 1gb sticks till 8/30) ill throw this sucker in a m350 and check the temps. With so many holes in the case, and external power, i bet i max 10 degress lower.

This is probably a stupid question, but does the bios have wake on usb?

I'm not considering it, I already made up my mind.

I think I'm going to trow out this case together with that PSU,
I regret that I didn't know that 60W would be sufficient before... Confused
Because that's the reason I didn't go for a case with a 60W external adapter.

So there goes 55EUR up in the air..

It will be tough but i think i will hold out for the deluxe version . hope they sell it soon.

anyone else going to hold out?

Not sure if it makes much sense to wait for the deluxe.

Did anyone notice that the newegg listing says that this board has WiFi 802.11n on board? Am I missing something here? I though that was only available on the deluxe version?

hi tripkip,
does the KVR1333D3S9 work well? thinking of getting two 2gb sticks for my build with the AT5IonT-I.

if you looking for a case I can recommend this that I use for my build:

He's using the 1gb per stick variety. It is on the supported memory list on asus site. The 2gb sticks are not on the supported list, but someone else earlier in this thread said they would buy one and see if it works.

Bad to hear about the HDMI handshake issue. Do you suspect it have something to do with your receiver, or with the motherboard? Did that happen on both Windows and Linux?

Yes it is not software related.
I don't know if it's the motherboard or the receiver.

Problem is that my tv furniture is like a wall thing that is completely mounted and screwed into the wall. Can you see it coming ? Shocked

That's pretty good for under load - what are the idle temps like?
