I fancy getting a USB>spdif convertor to run audio from my mini straight into a dac.
This dac is not compatible with 5.1 so I want to continue also with a standard SPDIF cable for them duties.
Will XBMC output on both of this audio ports or will it only do one?
I don't mind both.

XBMC for Mac only support one audio output device, pick one.

One other question possibly related. In recent builds, (Probably not related but seems to have been an issue since apple opened up its acceleration thingies) I notice that on a fair amount of my videos there is no sound until I select 'output stereo to all speakers'
This does not appear to be related to the audio, and I am connected to a reciever capable of 5.1 in a variety of formats, plus it never used to be a problem.
Is this buggy, is it worth getting logs?
I giess what I am asking is if this output stereo is selected does that over ride proper 5.1?

One thought could I programme a button on a harmony remote to change audio output on the fly?
