MSI Wind Box DE500
#1
I am thinking about buying an MSI Wind Box DE500, to use with xbmc. The hardware specs of this computer is as following:
‧Intel® Atom™ Processor D510
‧Discrete Graphics ATI® Radeon HD 4330
More info can be found at http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodde...od_no=2050

Will I be able to get acceleration out of the ATI Radeon graphic card? and will xbmc be able to perform decent on this hardware? Are there any os recommendations to achieve optimal performance with xbmc?

With decent perfomance am I thinking displaying 1080p video content.

I don't know if that ATI card is supported, but in general you're life would be a whole lot easier if you went with NVIDIA.

You should consider one of the Ion/Ion2 boxes. They all work great with XBMC, and can play any 1080p videos you throw at it with ease.

For OS recommendation, XBMC Live/Linux seem to be the most mature versions.
