Which version of XBMC are you using? I don't see any Broadcom option under System -> Video -> Playback in mine.

yup, rebooted god knows how many times.

My build is r32661. I can see from my launcher that today's build is r32879. I managed to download and install today's build from launcher. I says update successful. But after reboot, my XBMC is still 32661. Don't know why.

dont know why aswell? but deleting your xbmc.app and install again from launcher should renew your xbmc.

and if i were you, i would double check again if the files are in the right position and that your kext will be loaded by a startupitem (see beginning of this thread)

otherwise i wouldnt know where to search?!

what's at /Users/frontrow/Applications ? That's where XBMC.app should be installed. /Applications is on the OSBoot partition and that has limited space.

Oops again. Typo. The XBMC.app directory i removed was from /Users/frontrow/Applications.

In there, i could see:
- Boxee.app
- System Preference.app
- XBMC.app

I did the following:

Code:
cd /Users/frontrow/Applications
rm -rf XBMC.app

In /Applications are the following:

Code:
.localized        System Preferences.app
Boxee.app        XBMC.app

There is one extra file called .localized

Ok. I think the XBMC.app directory in /Users/frontrow/Applications is the wrong one to delete, cos the folders are all empty.

The one in /Applications actually contains files. I'll delete this one and see what happens.

Thanks. Smile

It's a symlink that points to the one in /Users/frontrow/Applications/XBMC.app

Yup. Tried deleting again and reinstalling from launcher. It's still 32661. Argh!

To make sure that XBMC was indeed deleted, I tried launching XBMC after deleting. It says cannot find XBMC. So, it's definitely deleted.

It's 3am where I am. My eyes must be playing tricks on me. Smile

If you have r32661 then it means you're stil using night builds from schss. Try to official builds from xbmc.org. Who knows that gives you a difference.
