[LINUX] nVidia card performance issues
#1
I've just moved from an nVidia 9800 GTX to a G210 & am now having performance issues with the interface. I've tried using xbmc svn r33122 (ubuntu PPA package) & a fresh build of xbmc svn r33279 with a recent Aeon65 download. Now while the reduction in noise is welcome the xbmc interface it's self has now become far less responsive & scaling transitions are now jerky. I've tested X11 it's self & that's giving good 3D acceleration, also in xbmc hardware decoding for h.264 is working nicely as well (can't find any VC1 to see if that's working or not).

Is this just something I'll have to live with because the GPU is to slow or should I be investigating why the performance & if so does anyone have any hints n' tips on how to get my performance back?

If you have desktops effects enabled, that is your problem. Disable that.
