Been using XBMC Live 10.1 installed on a USB memory stick with LiLi now for a few days. it's been perfect, done everything i've wanted it to do.

I tried that too on a 4GB HP stick but when I boot from it, XBMC does not start. Only a command line is visible.

edit: nevermind, the iso was faulty (partially downloaded only)

you don't need it, unetbootin or similar works just fine.
