sound dropouts when playing mp3
#1
Hi @all,

i have a problem with randomly dropouts when i'm listening to mp3 in xbmc. And everytime there is a dropout i get the following line in the xbmc.log:

Code:
WARNING: CALSADirectSound::GetSpace - get space failed. err: -32 (Broken pipe)

I've made a google search with such line, but didnt get really useful stuff.

My system: ION-Board (Point of View) with Atom 230 and NVidia 9300 onboard. OS: yaVDR 0.2 (some Lucid-Derivate). Alsa 1.023. Sound goes through the optical SP/DIF-Port.

I tried various configs in /etc/asound.conf and/or in /usr/share/xbmc/system, at this time it looks like this:

Code:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 1
}
In xbmc (pvr-testing2, version 32595) sound settings are

audio output: optical/coax
audio output device: iec958
passthrough audio device: iec958

with VDR at the same machine, which is also using alsa and the same optical port, i have no problems with the sound.

Thanks for any hint...

cheers, jennix
