[MAC] How does one update the crystalhd firmware and driver?
#1
I have been looking through the forum, but so much is focused on AppleTV and crystralHD, that I can't seem to find any FAQ for crystalHD on the Mac Mini. I installed the crystalHD card many months ago and then installed the driver and firmware by clunking through command line instructions. I recall that it gave me some errors until I invoked the all-powerful sudo.

My questions is this... after I installed the .1 version, I see it has been updated a few times in the months that followed. How can I update? I assume that when I reboot my mini, the driver and firmware must load. Do I need to do anything special to unload or remove anything... or do I just download the latest and pound through the code that is posted on the same site as the driver/firmware?

Is there an autoinstaller for mac? That would be the easy way out I guess!

I just went through the command line stuff again, making sure to delete the old drivers first. To be honest it doesn't take long.

You will also need to unload the current kext first though (kextunload).
