Is there a reason why XOTG does not work in the Alaska skin?
once installed via the add-on zip method, its in the add-on menu
but executing the add-on does give no result.

It works fine as an add-on in the Confluence (Standard skin)
once swithcing back to Alaska skin you can even see the add-on working (video and menus), though once back at the add-on base menu, it does not initiate.

@jjthefox: If you mean this, rename the PAL folder to 720p. Then it should work. (See this post)

(If you already do have a 720p folder with content or you mean a different add-on I'm afraid I won't be able to help you.)

edit: by your cleverly hidden link I see you did mean XOT-Uzg

You are running it from the Video Add-Ons and not the Add-On settings aren't you?
