Question  [Linux] Can't get skins to apply Post: #1
Hello, recently started using XBMC on Ubuntu and really liking it.
Thought i'd give skins a go, but i don't seem to be able to apply them.

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.Confused
I have the skins in the right directory, and permissions are set as such that 'admin' is the creator, and my user profile has full access.

The skins show in the list inside XBMC but are greyed out.

--Running--
Ubuntu 10.4.1 x86 fully up to date.
Please be gentle with replies, i'm reasonably new to Linux and XBMC

if the skins are greyed out it means they are incompatible with the xbmc version you're running.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Thank's, Spiff.

Apparently, i have v1:9.11-lucid3 installed via the official repository as detailed in the XBMC Wiki. So i'm assuming the skin i want to use isn't compatible.

I'm trying to use Aeon which requires 9.04.1
Other skins work, such as http://xbmc.org/skins/transparency/5/ which requires XBMC v9.11
