if you cant use dhcp, you should setup the dns settings.
you know if it works because the rss feeds will then appear.
i have done that to my brothers... and on mine i use dhcp... actually both of us use dhcp now (we use crossover cables, my wifi adapter should be here tomorow)
anyhow... just try it my way, worked for me.
example when using router for me:
dns1: 10.20.30.1
dns2: 192.168.0.1
thats because i either use router or crossover... my belkiin router i setup to use 10.20.30. range because it makes me realize when i am using crossover or not (and if i am connected to right router - i have multiple)
