I've done a bit more testing. I tried the XBMC Live cd running from a USB key, all I've changed on it was to get the WiFi up so I could download the Vimeo plugin, done nothing else to the base live install than that.
Same issues on there, the plugin doesn't let me logon and won't list folders with videos in them. Could this be hardware related? I've tried logging into my Vimeo account via the browser on my laptop and that works ok. I've also installed XBMC on my laptop that's also got arch running and the plugin works ok on there, I can logon to Vimeo and watch videos

Be suprised if it's network, the iPlayer plugin works ok as does access to the web for weather and system updates.
I'll try the live USB again later and see if it gives me more in the log, suspect it won't though as it's behaviour is the same as the HD install which doesn't log much of use.

Thanks, that's really good of you, I'll give it a go as soon as I can but that will probably be over the weekend. I'll post back as soon as I've been able to try it.

Hmmm....interesting, I've just recreated the Live USB key from the ISO and booted into that. Done nothing more than get the WiFi up, calibrate the screen overscan and install the Vimeo plugin and it's working. I was able to log in to my Vimeo account, watch films etc..all good :-)
I install the Alaska Revisited Mod from the XBMC repo and the Vimeo plugin doesn't appear in the video plug-ins. Reappears when I go back to the default skin. I'll try deleting the .xbmc dir on my HDD install and see if it starts behaving itself again.

Thanks Henrik, sorry I didn't make it clear, I wasn't expecting a fix in the special debug version you kindly rolled me; I was just making sure you knew the behaviour hadn't been changed by the extra debug info.
I removed the ~/.xbmc directory and did the same thing as I did with the Live USB key install...calibrated the screen, installed Vimeo and tried to use it. No luck unfortunately...makes me wonder if it's something in linux build (Arch) or config/setup I've applied to Arch.

Make you wonder doesn't it, I seem to be the only person with this problem (at least as far as searching for other reports can indicate).
Either of you running on x86_64? I wonder if that could be it.
