I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble outputting non-48kHz mono audio via HDMI lately?
It seems that 48kHz mono audio is fine, but if I try to watch say, the rachel maddow show (via an rss feed) or a ted talk (addon or rss) or academic earth (addon) which are 44.1khz mono, i am presented with choppy video and no audio output (the audio output directly causing the choppy video.)
some background:
running 10.04 lucid
alsa and nvidia drivers are 10.04 "stock"
output hdmi audio --> onkyo receiver --> tv
tried "hdmi" output and custom: plug:hdmi output. no help.
to rule out an issue with the receiver, i shut it off and let it pass the signal through -- same issue.
it just seemed to have started maybe a week ago?
'speaker-test -Dplug:hdmi -r44100 -c1' works just fine.
