I just installed Ubuntu 10.04.1 and the latest Dharma beta from the svn ppa.

Everything works well, youtube works for the first time in a long time.

The only problem is that my girlfriend watches a lot of tv-shows from China (Mostly from youtube). When I search using the youtube plugin I dont get the correct chinese characters. Only big squares.

I have not yet tried with chinsese subtitles.

So what is needed to display chinese characters on a fresh ubuntu install?

set the skin fonts to "Arial" in appearance settings.

and set subtitle font to arial.ttf to display chinese subtitles.
