Anyone with a Yamaha RX-V361 receiver or similar?
#1
Hey guys I'm on the look out for people with the above receiver or similar. A fellow xbmc'r posted a problem on the forums and made a ticket a couple of weeks ago but no one else seems to have recreated the same issue.
The issue goes by the tune of the receiver crashing once a video is paused then played again. The only solution is revert back to a build earlier than Dharma Beta 1.

Ticket: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10110

I'm hoping there isn't only the two people with the problem. The more people the better, the faster this can get sorted!

Thanks chaps. Wink

Hi

I have a RX-V363, it occasionally freezes/locks up since upgrading to dharma beta 1. I have to power it down at the mains to 'unlock' it again.

Didn't realise it was related to the xbmc upgrade until this post, I put it down to my lovely kids playing around with the amp one too many times!

Hi,

I have a RX-V461 and had the same problem after upgrading to Dharma Beta.

Now I reinstalled the whole system (minimum Ubuntu Server installation and Dharma Beta 2 10.00~svn33778-lucid1) and it seems to work. Maybe the upgrade was the problem.

Cheers,
David

im rocking a Rx-V1800 with none of those problems, thats seems kinda scary for your amp to be doing that.

question for you people, have you updated to the most recent firmware on your amps?

I might actually have solved the problem by applying a new firmware that I found via some german forum that I ran google translation on.

Good to hear poser Smile I was planning the same move, before I installed the latest xbmcfreak install. Seems to work fine now Oo Not the one to complain! Perhaps the bug was fixed unknowingly? Shall see how it goes!

If problems with yourself fryster still persist, give your box a fresh update with beta 2 or freak live and hopefully that will fix.

Case closed?

That's kinda not so interesting; my mate bought my a year old RX-V465 off me and I'm gonna setup XBMC for him in a week time. Anyone with 465 seeing the same problem? Cheers!!

Thanks skunkfu, for the quick link. It seems like I already have done this update (given by one of the Yamaha tech-support guy) ages ago. Was it actually for assigning HDMI 4 to AV4 optical input for set top boxes etc.? Can anyone confirm the firmware version please - is it K032? Cheers!!

Can't believe this thread! I thought my rx-v361 receiver was knackered..

Can you post a link to the new firmware? Need to sort this out and really don't want to reinstall my revo after getting it set up perfectly.

Any ideas on why this would be caused by the latest betas? There must be something changed w/sound drivers or similar?

Edit - Is this the solution: http://www.avforums.com/forums/7034545-post4.html

TDW running the most current firmware is nearly always a good idea. if no problems persists why update, but since you are having problems and have not updated firmware I'd give it a shot before reinstalling XBMC

I have an older Yamaha, and with Dharma my DTS-ES files won't play. All of the lights are lit showing that the receiver is receiving all 6.1 channels, but there's no audio. If you drop it into plain stereo you hear sound. I never had this problem with 9.11, it's only the newer beta builds.

BTW regular DTS audio works perfectly, it's only the "ES" stuff that has problems.
