MythTV (or other PVR) on LiveCD?

Hello. Is it possible to add any PVR functionality to an embedded USB install of XBMC (from live CD), using the MythTV or built in PVR frontend? Or do you need a "full" Linux install to get this type of functionality?

I don't use live, but I would think you could open a terminal and do sudo apt-get install mythtv . It should resolve the dependencies.
